Happy Birthday Vintage Girl Studios!
Five years ago I closed my photography boutique store front and ten years of hard work to start transitioning my traditional portrait studio into Vintage Girl Studios. Through other projects I found my passion and purpose in vintage glamour photography. My excitement of the endless creativity and collaborations has me still going today!
I don't celebrate myself or business enough but, I feel this is a big milestone year. Vintage Girl Studios is still here creating. It looks like we will be here for many years to come. Five years ago I was very scared, nervous, and determined. My mind was telling me this is not a good time (Having young children) to start this en devour. My heart and husband told me to stop doubting and keep moving.
I wanted to share one of our first sessions with you. Doreen Ise of Rosebud Salon Providence is one of the most amazing people I know and admire. Thank you for your love and support through the years. This session is also the first time I worked with talented Simony Resende. Simony is still one of the stylist here at Vintage Girl Studios.
I also wanted to Thank Rebecca Twitchell of Half Full, Ashley Maclean, Caliegh Boudreau, Melanie Lacy, Liz Paonessa, and everyone we have worked with. Kristen Minsky for being the first creative session at The Lippitt Museum.
I need to Thank Jessica Jackson for being a great graphic designer, Idea Bouncer, and listening ear when times were really hard. Thank you Jennifer DeCesari for letting me know I was doing it all wrong and then set me straight. Wish you still lived here. Thank you to all my logo models Doreen, Holly, Leah, Dee Dee, Amelia, and Krystin.
I Love to Thank the love of my life Christian and family for their support through these years.
Most of All I Thank every client and collaboration I have worked with. I really love you all.
THANK YOU!!!

2014 Roaring Twenties Lawn Party at Castle Hill on The Crane Estate
Last month we had the pleasure of attending 2014 Roaring Twenties Lawn Party at Castle Hill on The Crane Estate.
The Roaring Twenties Lawn Party is an event presented by Boston Swing Central and The Greater Boston Vintage Society.
A festival, an experience and was the event of the Summer! The event had: Hot Jazz from Brooklyn's own, Baby Soda Jazz Band, a vintage fair with clothing dealers and a very fine haberdasher, swing and charleston dance lessons and performances, lawn games (croquet & bocce ball), picnicking and antique cars. And general frolicking in the sun.
The Lawn Party harkens back to the Jazz Age, the era in which the Crane Estate mansion at Castle Hill was built. The event will took place on the beautiful Grand Allee, a half-mile long landscaped lawn lined with statuary and hedgerows. It was the perfect setting for an idyllic Sunday afternoon.
I was vending promoting the studios. I had lovely neighbors Gypsy Vintage and Tangerine Boutique.
Such and amazing event and met many new friends. To view more photos from this event check out our Facebook page.

Amelia Jane
In March VGS sponsors the World of Wheels Pinup pageant. We also host a online contest for our contestants through our Facebook Page.
This year the Beautiful Amelia Jane won the contest. She had a great session which started in our Studio and moved to Crescent Park in East Providence. Crescent Park has a Beach, Carousel and a Saturday Cruise.
We are thinking of offering a few of these location sessions next summer.

Four Creative Bussiness Ladies
Last Month I had the pleasure of working with three other lady creative small business owners. We all met through social media. I had been following their work for a while and was so excited to work with these passionate women.
MayMac creates pinup lingerie, corsets, & burlesque inspired costumes to celebrate women of all shapes and sizes. The company was founded on the idea that curves are power, color is key, and that there is no such thing as too much glitter. Designer Katey Cusack began MayMac in honor of her grandmother Eunice May Macfadden, who always dreamed of being a designer and would name her line after herself. The inspiration behind the designs have always been femininity, glitter, eye catching colors, and unnatural waist lines. MayMac caters to a variety of sizes, believing that every woman should always feel her most confident! MayMac will strap you into the most stunning costume or the most comfortable, yet effective shape wear you have ever worn! Love yourself, treat yourself, learn about MayMac!
Kristin

styles. She studied at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, and
obtained her degree in Illustration and Design. Kristin specializes in
many different mediums including the dying art of Gold Leaf, as well as
intricate painted murals on glass, photograph restoration, and digital
illustrations. She also takes pride in traditional paintings and
drawings, and has been featured in several galleries throughout
Connecticut and Pennsylvania.
