The 2014 New England Shake-Up

 A few weeks ago we had the pleasure of collaborating with the the talented and lovely Cherry Dollface and Bomber Betty Cosmetics at the New England Shake-Up. It was a long day but, many beautiful women and images came out of the day.   It was a great time meeting these ladies and many laughs. I hope they will return next year.

Last year we had the pleasure of meeting and working with the beautiful talented Sarah Blodgett. She is a Actress, Comedian, and Blogger.  This year she came back for a Hollywood glamor session with the studio for her new Blog EverydayStarlet.com. All Vintage Lovers should check it out.

2014 Roaring Twenties Lawn Party at Castle Hill on The Crane Estate

Last month we had the pleasure of attending 2014  Roaring Twenties Lawn Party at Castle Hill on The Crane Estate.

The Roaring Twenties Lawn Party is an event presented by Boston Swing Central and The Greater Boston Vintage Society.
  A festival, an experience and was the event of the Summer! The event had: Hot Jazz from Brooklyn's own, Baby Soda Jazz Band, a vintage fair with clothing dealers and a very fine haberdasher, swing and charleston dance lessons and performances, lawn games (croquet & bocce ball), picnicking and antique cars. And general frolicking in the sun.

The Lawn Party harkens back to the Jazz Age, the era in which the Crane Estate mansion at Castle Hill was built. The event will took place on the beautiful Grand Allee, a half-mile long landscaped lawn lined with statuary and hedgerows. It was the perfect setting for an idyllic Sunday afternoon.


I was vending promoting the studios. I had lovely neighbors Gypsy Vintage and Tangerine Boutique.

Amelia Jane

In March VGS sponsors the World of Wheels Pinup pageant. We also host a online contest for our contestants through our Facebook Page.
This year the Beautiful  Amelia Jane won the contest. She had a great session which started in our Studio and moved to Crescent Park in East Providence. Crescent Park has a Beach, Carousel and a Saturday Cruise.
We are thinking of offering a few of these location sessions next summer.

Four Creative Bussiness Ladies

Last Month I had the pleasure of working with three other lady creative small business owners. We all met through social media. I had been following their work for a while and was so excited to work with these passionate women.

Kristin Haddad is a freelance artist with a variety of skills and creative styles. She studied at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, and obtained her degree in Illustration and Design. Kristin specializes in many different mediums including the dying art of Gold Leaf, as well as intricate painted murals on glass, photograph restoration, and digital illustrations. She also takes pride in traditional paintings and drawings, and has been featured in several galleries throughout Connecticut and Pennsylvania.

Postmodern Jukebox

Last year I was hearing all this crazy talk about Miley Cyrus at the VMAs. I looked for the clip and discovered Postmodern Jukebox.
Postmodern Jukebox takes popular top-forty songs and reinvents them into jazz standards. New video are release almost every week on Youtube. Sometimes children cartoon songs are released on Saturday mornings Called "Saturday Morning Slow Jams".
I heard that they were touring for the first time  and heading to Providence and I knew I had to work with them. For more images from their session and show check out our Facebook Page.
